Hey all! Hope things are going well.
So, the close of an old year, and the beginning of a new one. I'm sure you guys are probably getting so many of these journals, but since I haven't really updated in a while, I should probably write one too.
Here are some of the big events of 2014 for me:
-I graduated University with a Bachelor of Arts (and I also got Cum Laude in my graduating class)
-I began heavily developing Shifted as well as my own personal website (www.wheatart.com)
-I moved home and got a basic job.
-I have a car! And an N! (for those who don't know, it's the license for new drivers. The L is when you take the written test, the N is when you take the road test and can start driving on your own)
-I applied to several art jobs, and I am particularly hopeful about one at a Dinosaur Museum.
In writing goals, I've learned and been told that it's really important to make them concrete and attainable. They also need to be things that you can accomplish, and not things that rely on someone else. So instead of saying I want to get better at art, I say that I will draw something every day. Instead of saying this company will hire me, I will say that I will make my portfolio so good that it would be hard for them not to hire me. That being said, here are my goals that I will finish by the end of 2015:
-I will have the first issue of Shifted finished and available in print.
-I will move out and live on my own (preferably in a bigger city)
-I will finish old art projects that have been sitting in my computer (namely the Harry Potter covers and one or two memes)
That being said, I hope you all have a fantastic new year and are excited about new opportunities!
