Oil on Canvas.
This is my grandpa (passed away this year) in front of Mount Kilimanjaro, which he climbed when he lived in Tanzania. This is for my Grandma for Christmas, and it was my first time doing a portrait in oils. I know they usually have a plain background, but I couldn't bear to do it! I'm open to tips for whenever I do it again as well, but please don't bash this painting particularly.

I find it harder when they pass away as you're older. The good thing is, I know he's in a better place and not suffering. He'll keep an eye on us now!
